Really Think About IT.....

Have PATIENCE with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose COURAGE in considering your own IMPERFECTIONS but instantly set about REMEDYING them - every day begin the task ANEW. - Saint Francis de Sales, 1567-1622

We live in a time where we FOCUS on our imperfections so much that we lose sight of who we really are.

10 Things

10 Things I am THANKFUL For:

1. I am thankful for my children and husband

2. Even thought I dont get to see him much.. I am THANKFUL that Kevin is willing to Work so hard for our family

3. Curling Irons

4. Unexpected Kisses that make me melt

5. That feeling right before I fall asleep in the arms of the man that I LOVE and I know LOVES me back.

6. Smiles (and everything that makes me smile)

7. Music. It is what drives me and helps me through out the day. Whatever I am feeling, there is a song out there to match it

8. Diet Sobe (Blackberry Currant..it is the best)

9. Chocolate with almonds, or carmel, or peanuts, or cherries, or mint, or.........

10. I am thankful for my ability to be me

I want to be radiant

The supreme prayer of my heart is NOT to be learned, rich, famous, powerful, or good, but simply to be RADIANT. I desire to radiate health, cheerfulness, calm courage, and good will.
I wish to live WITHOUT hate, whim, jealousy, envy, fear.
I wish to be simple, honest, frank, natural, clean in mind and clean in body, unaffected, as ready to say I do not know, if it be so, and to meet all men on an absolute equality, to face any obstacle and meet every difficulty unabashed and unafraid. I wish others to live their lives, too - up to their highest, fullest, and best.
To that end I pray that I may never meddle, interfere, dictate, give advice that is not wanted, or assist when my services are not needed. If I can help people, I'll do it by giving them a chance to help themselves; and if I can uplift or INSPIRE, let it be by EXAMPLE, inference, and suggestion, rather than by injunction and dictation. That is to say, I desire to be radiant - to radiate life.

DINAHOR'S

Dinahors. No this is not a spelling error on my part people. Maddison is in LOVE with dinahors. Now, she thinks that dinahors are in fact our two puppies, or the actual dinasour on Night at the Museum, her dollies, blankies EVERYTHING now is a dinahor. She says it so cute and she is crackin me up with her bald head.

Close Call

There are moments in each parent's life when this happens. It started out as any normal night; watching tv with the kids, laughing at what happened at school today and taking care of Maddison who was laying on the couch in the other room watching a show... She is not feeling the greatest, so I was checking on her quite frequently.

Then it happened.
10 minutes after checking on her, I decided I had better do it again because she was running a fever,
but she was gone.
I asked JD to go and find her, but he said that he couldn't.
It didn't dawn on me that she was actually gone, probably just playing upstairs or in mom's room, but when all the kids came downstairs with becca and she asked me if I had found Maddison yet,
it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I quickly went to check mom's room, the green room, the kitchen, laundry room, both computer rooms, but there was no Maddison. I sent the kids outside and quickly got my shoes on. I told Kevin that I could not find her and he came outside to help.

Fear is a funny thing. I just knew that she had went over to Jamie's house so I sent becca over to check,
yet again,
but when I saw Robert come outside and start looking,
I literally thought my heart was going to stop.
Both Kevin and I were almost in tears, but it was like the fear was so consuming that it was impossible to stop looking.

I asked a couple of neighbor kids if they had seen her,
we searched the house again and again,
we searched the outside over and over and as a mother I just knew that she had wandered off and fell into a man-hole or was scared and cold,
or crying because she could not find her way home.

Realization is a scary thing.
There is nothing more terrifying to a parent to lose a child and have no where else to look.
Then the best thing I have ever seen,
Becca walking out of the post-office lobby carrying my Maddison who was completely asleep.

I have lost everyone of my children at least once, and have found everyone of them in that dang postoffice lobby asleep.
Then, you get those overwhelming feeling of love for your child. I swear that a parent cannot know the love they possess for their child until they lose them.

Keep and eye on your children because you never know if it will be just another close call.

Love Jerri

I AM YOUR MOTHER!!!!

So, being the fantastic mother that I am (don't laugh, I know what you are thinking) I pride myself on ALWAYS knowing where my children are. I NEVER have to call Jamie in a panick because I have lost one, or two, or three, or all of my children, but... I lost Maddison earlier today while I was writing my other blog entry ( see I knew this blog thing was a bad Idea) Anyways, I just figured that she was with dad because She loves dad to death, but he said that he hadn't seen her, or heard her ( and that ladies and gentlemen is a BAD thing.) My next guess was Jamie's. I walked over there and found her on Jamies floor with an entire bag of bbq potato chips between her legs eating away. I grabbed her up, and started walking home. Well, I asked her if hwe wanted to come home (while carrying her of course, not really giving her an option) well, she bluntly told me no and slapped me across the face. I whopped her back, on the butt of course and said, don't you ever hit me, I AM YOUR MOTHER. She looked at me like I was a crazy person as if to say, duh mom, I know your not the icecream man, andyways, the picture will explain her punishment. I am sorry, but she is so dang cute whe she is being punished.

giggle-e-bob

Last weekend was so much fun. We went to Lexi's baptism, well I should say that me and Aspen went to Lexi's baptism. The rest of the kids stayed at Gramma Peay's house where Maddison went completely crazy and showed them that they were really happy to only have one child. They said to come back any time, but I am sure that they didn't shed many a tear when we left. I had so much fun with Janet on Friday. I know that sitting in a car with 8 kids for 40 plus minuets while Janet got her hair done doesn't exactly seem like a "fun" thing to most people--(Come on, I know you are jealous), but I had a blast. Lexi and me were sitting in the front of Janet's van and we were laughing at this old guy that had very little hair, like most older men, that was getting the sides trimmed. Lexi asked me why he would want to cut his hair when he doesn't have very much anyways. She is such a cute little girl. Jd and Abby took it upon themselves to keep Maddison entertained (who says kid's aren't lifesavers), which I was grateful for, Travis sat in the back with this amazed look on his face while Spencer sang his own version of every song ever wrote...At the top of his lungs. I'm just gonna say that I was so happy that I had taken some Tylenol rapid release tabs before I got there. He is a funny kid though and he taught me that it really is possible to do acrobatic tricks in a van in front of Great Clips. I never would have thought it possible. I love going upstate, but I could never imagine living there, I don't know how you guys do it. I think that I only cut off about 4 drivers this time, so I am improving quite a bit. FYI, I never know what to name my posts, so I am just going to put whatever comes into my head.

What Bugs Me

Janet tagged me a while back on this so here goes

10. inside out socks....(Janet)

9. Mis matched Socks (Janet)

8. Un-even hair (do I need to say it again)

7. sticky things like honey, glue, suckers ect. Of course, being a mom, you can't live one day without getting suckers for kids

6. Whoppers, the candy, not the burger...now that I think about it, the burger isn't that great either, but it really doesn't bug me.

5. blonds, im just kidding, I just don't like the attitude that comes with 75 percent of blonds, so I guess you caould say that it is bad attitudes that bug me

4.Opening up laundry soap boxes, really, does it have to be that hard, don't we have enough to deal with besides stubborn laundry soap boxes?

3. this girl that works at gillys named whitney. I really don't know why, but she bugs me

2. when someone or something touches me on one side but not the other , the uneven thing again.

1. I can't believe I am going to write this, I want to puke right now, but the thing that bugs me the most is cotton balls, nasty, I am seriously sitting on one hand right now because of the cringe affect. Blaaah.

WHY Whistles???

Maddison, my lovely child who I adore with all my heart, has found a whistle. It is not one of those whistles that you have to blow so hard on that you feel like your are going to pop a blood vessel in your eye just to get it to work, it is one of those that you could take outside on a slightly windy day and it sounds like a fog horn, only higher. I have no idea where she found it, I hate to ask anyways, but it is driving me crazy. Aspen keeps trying to take it away from her which makes her scream into the whistle so it sounds like a high pitched fog horn muffling a little girl's screams. Heaven help me, I think that I ever find the person that invented whistles I would tie him to a chair and beat him till he cries for his momma, then I would beat him again for everything that he put his momma through while trying to make the beloved whistle.
Anyways I'm gonna go now, but I will leave you with a question,
If the person who invented whistles is tied to a tree in the middle of the forest with every whistle ever made and he blows on everyone of those whistles, how long do you think it would take me to make him stop.?)

Daily drama, by Jerrilynn Peay

Jamie called me this morning to see if I wanted to go to greenriver with her.

This is where it all begins. I wanted to go so bad, but.....

last night I asked kevin where he was going to be working today so I would know if I needed to pack him a lunch or not. He said that he would probably be working at the huntington power plant, so yes, pack him a lunch. Well I wasn't feeling the greatest, so I decided that I could wake up in the morning and fix him something, but when I got up this morning, I wasn't feeling any better than last night, womanly problems and all, so I told him I would bring it up to him, so I had to tell Jamie no, even though I really, really wanted to go for the fact that it would get me out of the house for a while. Yes, I realize that I would still have to take my children, but sometimes having them scream in a car is so much better than having them scream at home :) Then of course, because this is what happens all the time, Kevin calls and says that he will not need a lunch, so I get all excited because now I can go with Jame; so I run outside and Oh Crap, Jamie has already left. Icing on the cake if you ask me. This is my drama. Now I am stuck at home, doing laundry, changing panties (bless maddison's heart, she is trying so hard), and doing homework. Not as much fun as it sounds, believe me.

These are the days of our lives.

Today, my Trabby got to go to the junior high with Jared for a learning center they had for one of his classes. I thought that since he would only be there for 45 minuets, they would make some cookies or something simple and be done with it, but no, he came home with a froggie bag they had made that was filled with paper monkies attached to popsicle sticks, felt animals, necklaces, and a bowtie paper. He had so much fun and decided that he doesn't want to go to preschool anymore, he wants to go to Jareds school.

Aspen decided that she no longer wants to live at our house, she wants to live with Jamie. Seriously, the only thing she ever talks about is going over to Jamie's house and playing with Jamie. I finally told her today that if she could manage to get her bed and all her clothes and her dresser over to Jamie's house, she could stay there. She tried to move her bed, but it wasn't working, so she said that she would take her clothes over there and she could sleep on the floor with Dukie.

Maddison decided that she is going to go peep in the pottie. We figured that if she wants to try we would go ahead with it, so we went yesterday and got her a pottie chair, and she sat on that thing basicall for the rest of the night. She did a great job, but I am a little upset that my baby wants to peep in the potty already. Mom and dad bought her some pull-ups and undies, but she doesn't quite understand that she does not need to be completely naked in order to successfully peep; or that her undies, although the work great as a hat, don't necessarily belong on her head or around her neck.

JD is getting way to big; way too fast. Where is the point when they stop being a little kid and turn into a young adult. I know that he is only 7 but he is already talking to me like an adult. For example, we got this dog the other day; best dog in the world, but he ran away. Me and JD went looking for him, This was our conversation:
JD: "Mom, you know if you got a shock coller like dad was saying, you wouldn't have this problem."
Jerri: "I know that JD, Please just help me look for the dog"
JD: I am mom, but I'm just saying if you would listen to dad, Sammy would have a shock coller on right now, and he would have never got out of the yard, you really need to be more responsible.
Jerri: Dude
JD: Responsibility is a great for those that understand what it means
Jerri: I get it JD, I'm not responsible
JD: Yeah, but do you understand what that means for you, Bad...Bad things, I'm not even gonna go there. Mom, the dog is right there, you just drove past him, do you want me to drive.
Jerri: Bar-ten-der, just kidding, i didn't say that, that was for Ben's enjoyment. I then jumped out of the van, fell in the mud, wrestled with the dog to get him in the van, then made JD clean up the mud mess on the seat......teach me about responsibility....I'll show you responsibility.(HA.HA.HA.)
